We are glad to announce that the National Africa Foundation has been invited to send a representative to the African Development Bank annual conference in La Cote D'Ivoire (the Ivory Coast) later in the month. This is due to NAF's programs and activities on e-learning and distance education as a means of poviding access to quality education and health programs to Africans and those in the Diaspora.

NAF has partnered with several top-level universities and colleges in the United States, Canada and the European Union to make their courses available online and in some cases at a discount to Africans and others worldwide.

There are even free courses on several subjects and topics that are available at some leading online course providers as Alison and GCFLearnfree organizations that could be taken free of charge available at NAF. NAF is also participating in several ongoing Diaspora initiatives in North America and the European Union.

Executive Director Lands A Teaching Job at Harvard
The Executive Director, Mr. Prince M. Obiri-Mainoo has been offered a teaching position as an Akan (Twi) Language Teacher at the Department of African and African-American Studies at the prestigeous Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The appointment, which took effect from September 1, 2009 adds a face-to-face component to the online Twi classes which he launched in the middle of the year under National African Foundation's (NAF) Internationalization of African Languages and Cultural Initiative program.

After leading a delegation from MKFC-Sweden and Finland to meet with the MoESS on E-Teacher Training education, the Executive Director of National Africa Foundation, Mr. Prince M. Obiri-Mainoo returned to his base in the United States last Friday, December 5, 2009.

While in Ghana, the ED also seized the opportunity to provide a series of orientations on e-learning to students and staff of some educational instituitions in Ghana including Wesley College and St. Louis College of Education in Kumasi, and an earlier meeting with the staff and students of the Kibi Presbyterian Teachers Training College in the Eastern Region.

On the eve of his return, the ED met with the West African director of Fronter, Mr. Jeffery Konadu-Addo on possibilities of their two organizations coming out with an innovative e-learning package in Ghana soon.
