The ED, on his second trip to Ghana in less than three months, led a delegation of MKFC/Stockholm College-NAF team to meet with the directors of Ghana's Teacher Training Education of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (MoESS) in Accra on Tuesday, November 11, 2009. As a result of the meeting, MKFC/Stockholm College together with National Africa Foundation (NAF) have launched the first eTeacher Training pilot scheme with three selected teacher training colleges in Ghana. These are Wesley College and the St. Louis College of Education in Kumasi and the Presbyterian Teachers College at Kibi in the Eastern Region.. The five-month pilot training programme of twenty students each shall be drawn from pupil teachers in the entire country through an advertisement in the nation's news media. Apart from the passion to be a teacher, applicants should be computer literate with access to the Internet. The scheme hopes to take off in early 2009. If successful, the training would be made available to several hundreds of students who are interested in training to become teachers in Ghana. MKFC provides other courses in tourism, sustainable development, International Computer Driving License (ICDL) and many more.
