After spending just a month in the U.S., the Executive Director returned to Ghana on November 2 as part of MKFC-Stockholm College delegation that is following up on earlier initiatives on e-learning while attending the 3rd E-learning Conference in Accra last May.

The ED would be leading the delegation to meet with officials of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (MOESS) on MKFC-Stockholm College's e-teacher training package. The team would also have meetings with the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) to explore possibilities of a partnership relationship.

There are other packages on Tourism, Environment and Sustainable Development, Basic Health Care, ICDL and step by step community action plans on Malaria, HIV AIDS, Pregnancy, Sanitation, Vaccination and Childhood iIlnesses that the team would also launch before returning to Sweden.

The ED would seize the opportunity to visit some senior high schools and teacher training colleges to promote the e-learning concept and to explain how tutors and students could enrol in MKFC-Stockholm College degree and certificate/diploma programs while still in Ghana. He is due back in the U.S. at the end of November.

The National Africa Foundation (NAF) is collaborating with MKFC-Stockholm College to implement the e-teacher training program and the other community packages in Ghana. The goal is to ensure that several hundreds of the thousands of qualified students who fail every year to gain admission into the country's thirty eight teacher training colleges would be provided with similar opportunities online to train and professionally qualify as graduate teachers.
